Bloomin' roses

Everything is early this year. Glorious weather. Watering regularly.

Vegetables

Cleaned the caterpillars off the rose bush and gooseberry bush.

Beautiful rhubarb

Two metres and growing! Gooseberries have also appeared and the rose bush is budding. Potatoes are showing along with the peas and carrots.

Compost

Built a compost. Nice design but the lid is a bit heavy.

Plum tree

Dug a meter wide hole and mixed in two bags of planting soil.

Aphids

Spent about 20 minutes cleaning the first wave of greenflies off of the rose bush. This usually goes on for a couple of months if I remember correctly from last year. There were also a number of small caterpillars rolled up in the leaves that I got rid of.

Sowing vegetables

Glorious weather and a chance to sow some veg: potatoes, carrots, lettuce and sugar snaps.

Rose bush

Pruned the rose bush somewhat. At least it survived the (mild) winter. Have being trying to water it regularly as it gets very little rain under the eave.

Crocus

And now the first crocus.

Rhubarb buds

Raked the lawn and pruned the hedge and raspberry patch. Too early to prune the rose bush yet but early watering is needed.

Snowdrops

Finally, the weather has turned milder; it's 7 degrees outside.
